As this process becomes worse, the rope (tendon) swells and the rubbing progresses until the tendon eventually tears. Typical areas of damage include: bursa sacks, acromioclavicular ligament strains, tendonitis or muscle tears to name a few.
Collateral Damage
When the shoulder joint is irritated or damaged, several other things can happen as kind of a "trickle-down effect." This includes the possibility of a frozen shoulder, causing a lost range of motion. When you lose range of motion in one joint, always, another has to work harder. This causes secondary issues like: neck and shoulder blade pain; elbow pain (tennis elbow); wrist problems (carpal tunnel syndrome); and even hip pain that occurs on the opposite side.

Our Approach
The medical approach is x-ray and injection, followed by MRI and surgery if no response to care. This is a structural approach that often misses the mark. If you sit in forced poor posture and then raise your arm up to the side as high as you can go, you will quickly see that it does not move very far. Now sit up straight and raise your arm to the side again, you will see an immediate increased range. Why? Because weak posture breads bad mechanics at the shoulder. Don't correct the mechanics and you are assured eventual breakdown of the system.
In our office we perform first aid to the injured areas (Cross Friction Massage, Ultrasound, Electric Stimulation). We then put out all of the “small fires” (we treat all of the areas that are swollen and inflamed that are popping up as a result of poor mechanics). Then we combine advanced chiropractic techniques with home care exercises that will realign not only your shoulder but your entire body... This is putting you in an environment where you can regain health without the use of Drugs or Surgeries!
