The Problem
Mainstream Medicine’s care of back pain is too focused on a "structural diagnosis." What does this mean? Doctors are so specialized that they won't look beyond the tip of their nose to find out what is wrong.
This leads to too much dependence on x-rays, CAT scans and MRIs, which in turn leads to the often inaccurate diagnosis’s of degenerative disc disease, degenerative joint disease, arthritis, spondylolisthesis and stenosis.

False Blame
Doctors who manage your back pain often focus too much only on the area where your pain is at and, as stated above, rely on xrays or MRIs to determine the cause of your pain. This creates misdiagnosis and leads to the patient's acceptance that they are limited to drugs, injections or surgery as their only treatment options.
Look at this scenario:
You have pain. You go to your doctor. They have you bend to touch your toes. They may poke a little in your back, and then they say "let's get an x-ray." The x-ray comes back and shows you have arthritis or "degenerative disc/joint DISEASE." You say "oh no, I am degenerating" and think here comes the wheelchair... You walk away thinking that you have a bad back and start taking meds that, in the big picture, only make you worse.
Problem
70% of people walking on the street have degenerative joint or disc disease, and just less than that have disc herniations... BUT THESE PEOPLE WITH DISC HERNIATIONS HAVE NO PAIN! So why, if they have the same thing you have, are they not suffering? Because in most cases degeneration of the spine is as harmless as having gray hair, and in reality this "degeneration" is not the true cause of your pain! Your doctor has placed convenient blame on a random finding instead of the true cause.
Tires or Alignment?
If you had tires wearing thin on your car, would you think these are bad tires, or would you think the alignment of your car was off?
Most pain that comes into our office is generated by swelling or inflammation. This may be because of a ligament, tendon, muscle, disc or joint capsules that have become overstrained much like a stoved finger, a sprained ankle, or a tendonitis in the elbow. This is, 90% of the time, due to poor mechanics that come from core weakness and bad body mechanics. Want to fix your problem? Fix the mechanics. If you don't address the alignment then the tires will need replaced... and eventually your body will break down with no repair.
The Real Problem
Unlike your car, you only have one body. So why don't you do yourself a favor, come in and see one of our highly trained "body mechanics." Our tools can include: massage, chiropractic adjustments, strenghtening exercises, computerized traction, and ultrasound just to name a few. This is not a magic cure but instead over 25 years of experience, over 25 years of results.
