Joint and Muscle Tension
Joint and muscle tension in the neck, shoulders, and base of the skull, if left untreated, can create head pain, face pain, nausea, and a general sense of feeling sick.
Some of these headaches are strictly tension in nature while others are "mixed." Mixed headaches are where the neck-related headache becomes a vascular headache, a.k.a. a migraine headache. Add to this picture things like the S.A.D. diet (Standard American Diet), which is full of refined sugars, food allergens, and toxins...and the headache epidemic is on.
So what are you to do? Grin and bear it? Lay in bed all day waiting for it to go away? Take NSAIDs or anti-convulsant drugs? There is a better alternative.

Research Says That Our Care Works
Research shows that spinal manipulation - the primary care provided by doctors of chiropractic - is an effective alternative to mainstream medical treatment for headaches. Duke Univeristy, in 2001, found that spinal manipulation resulted in an almost immediate improvement for headaches that originate in the neck and that it had significantly fewer side effects and longer-lasting relief than commonly prescribed medications. A 1995 peer reviewed journal (JMPT) found that spinal manipulation provided long-term relief even 4 weeks after care was discontinued; this could not be said for any of the medical alternatives.
