The Problem
Mainstream Medicine’s care of back pain is too focused on a "structural diagnosis." What does this mean? Doctors are so specialized that they won't look beyond the tip of their nose to find out what is wrong.
This leads to too much dependence on x-rays, CAT scans and MRIs, which in turn leads to the often inaccurate diagnosis’s of degenerative disc disease, degenerative joint disease, arthritis, spondylolisthesis and stenosis.
Plantar fasciitis is a common condition of the foot that causes foot pain. Patients, and sometimes doctors, confuse the terms plantar fasciitis and heel spurs.

Plantar fasciitis refers to the syndrome relating to inflammation of the band of tissue that runs along the arch of the foot from the heel, while a heel spur is a hook of bone that can form on the heel bone (calcaneus). A significant amount (70%) of patients with plantar fasciitis have been found to also have a heel spur on an x-ray.
Other conditions that can affect the ankle or foot include:
- Arthritis
- Sprains
- Strains
- Turf Toe
- Fat Pad Syndrome
- Bunion
- Morton’s Neuroma
- Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome
